SHINDEN FUDO RYU KIHO

Style founder: Ukyaku no Sou ( a priest of Ukyaku ) Suigetsu Oh ryoushin, a priest of Taga temple, Fudou cloister.

During the period Bakumatsu it was called Shinbutenjin Rokki no Ho.

Used tetsugusari, bo, katana, naginata and iai.

A product of the Shiga Koka area, Yamabushi, half secular, half ecclesiastic.

In Edo period it was practiced in Ohmi,Mino, Owari, Kyoto, Yamato, Settsu and Kibi.

This style taught along with Koka ryu, but from Bakumatsu through Meiji it was often practiced in Ohmi.

In the same line ther is Shiden Jitsuyo ryu, Bizen Hanabusa Yoshitsugu learned from Ban Koka Tarobyoue.

It appears there is also another unrelated ryu of different style with the same name.
