Style origin: Retainer of the Kai Takeda family: Magabuchi Shouzaemon Toriwaka. Uses a tanto. Also called Kumiuchi Hissyho den. Originally called Kosyu ryu; a style in Echigo province also teaches it.
In Edo period, it was transmitted to the Genke Koho Master family of Matsuyama in Shikoku, but also to Kyoto and Oumi. In Bakumatsu, in Koka, Toyota Yoshine learned from Nozawa Saijiro Syousui in Shikoku, and received the teachings.
